Like title says.

I watched this show long enough to safely say that both Donnie and Casey gives April space but at the same time, they don't give her space. They both don't give her space, but both are different kinds of space. I'll try to explain the best way I can. Donnie doesn't give April space because he tries to protect her all the time, when he needs to learn that there are mostly things that April can do by herself. I know that Donnie cares for her, I don't blame him at all for over protecting her (Aliens are after her everyday), and I like it when he does protect her, but April is 16/17 years old.

I understand that she's about to turn into an adult and she's training to be a kunoichi no less? She needs to learn how to do things herself and be independent, even going is far as kicking a few Kraang bots around. Donnie's is so sweet for doing this, but he did it too much though. I think that's the reason why April treats him a little cruelly sometimes (also because of the mutating her dad thing, but you know, she should be way over that by now). She probably feels like that Donnie has "baby" her and she wants to prove that she can take care of herself. I'm not saying that he can't protect her, he just needs to do it at the right time. I think he's starting to learn though so that's good...

Casey protects April too, but at the same time he knows how to give the kind of space that Donnie needs to give. Instead of protecting her a lot, he fights along side with her. Though, Casey in some ways doesn't give April the proper space either because it's been many occasions where he's been...how should I say this? "Inappropriate"? Well, I guess I'll go with that. He has not only constantly claims that he's on dates with April and flirts with her a lot, but he also does "inappropriate" touching. An example of that is in the episode "Wormquake".

Now before you say anything, I know it was the worm and not Casey, but April was implying that Casey did it. So what has happened between those two to make April think that? And then it was the recent episode "Plan 10". April HAD to tell him to stop pitching her butt (or looking. I'm not sure because I couldn't hear that good). Casey is being inappropriate when it comes to April's body. At least Donnie wouldn't do that, he respects her like that.

I know Casey is a teen so he might be a little curious, but I don't think that's an excuse (at least I don't think that should be an excuse). April is his friend and I think if he wants to have a relationship with April, he needs to stop acting like a pervert, that is if April realizes that too. And another thing I want to bring up. Why isn't April confronting Casey about this properly? She will tell Donnie off because he doesn't give her space, but she won't tell Casey off when he doesn't?

Regardless if your friends or not, you need to tell them straight up that it's not cool to do this. I think that if April doesn't tell him to stop, not only I think that he will continue this, but it's obvious that she will be ok with it and that's not cool even if she thinks it is. I barley see any arguments about this whole situation in any part of the internet. So people think this is ok? I don't care if your a Capril fan, Apriltello fan, both, or neither. Right is right and wrong is wrong. I think Casey needs to take some advice from Donnie's book and stop forcing himself on her. Donnie likes April, but he wants to keep a distance so he won't ruin his and April's friendship. Casey does not do this. Doesn't he care about his and April's friendship more than hooking up with her?

I'm not saying this show needs to be serious all the time (because it doesn't, it's a kids show), but it's humor sometimes doesn't make any sense. What would kids think about this? Now see, a kid can easily learn how to give others space by letting others do things on their own, but if kids watch what had Casey done, what would that teach them? That it's ok to do that to a girl? Kids can learn from Donnie's experiences, but what they have to learn from Casey's?  Geez for a show that supposed to show morals for kids, they don't do them at the right time in the right episodes when there REALLY needed, but they will do them when it isn't?  I know that TMNT does not have mortals all the time, but how kids are supposed to know what's a moral on the show and what's not?

Don't think I'm taking Donnie's side just because I like Apriltello and him, because I'm not. I love Casey too^^ It's just the way Nick is writing their and April's personalities. In my opinion, I really think neither couple should really happen. At the same time though, both has possibilities (and NOT because of so called "tradition"). Both couples have it's flaws and both has it's virtues. So what do you guys think?
